Project description:
77 E Elm St is a multi-family home in Chicago, IL 60611. This property was built in 1917. Marion Restoration has helped in one of apartments of this building install fireplace. The previous firebox was not operational. We restore firebox by resetting loose brick and repointing refractory mortar. A new gas insert provided by the owner was installed.
The original first level entry to the property was previously converted to a basement entry, with the first level door converted to a window. We have recreated the historic first level entry and masonry work related to reconfiguration of the basement entry according to modified architectural drawings. A stone cap and veneer have been installed to the sidewalk side retaining wall.
