Scope of work:

Stone Replacement and Restoration, Masonry Reconstruction, Masonry Cleaning, Traditional Surface Finishes

Project description:

This elegant nineteenth century Joliet Lemont Limestone underwent cleaning, stone restoration, and repointing to restore it to its former glory.

The limestone facade was previously painted, trapping water in the stone and obscuring the carved details. Paint was then removed from the entire facade.

The carved details were patched/recarved and the stone was repointed. Restoration techniques were carefully implemented to preserve the original patina. Lime putty mortar without cement was used to restore the joints.
